2025
Location: Work presented at Musée d'art contemporain de Baie-Saint-Paul
The installation seems at first glance to “sell” us a celebratory, playful, and attractive future. This apparent lightness, accentuated by the presence of birthday candles, nevertheless coexists with the idea that a disruptive element (a match) could tip the narrative towards catastrophe. The enthusiastic promise of a bright future turns out to be more uncertain than expected.
Reflecting the tensions of a world weakened by geopolitical conflicts, climate change, and disinformation, the work highlights the vulnerability of humanity at a time when it is becoming difficult to project ourselves into the future, but when we must try to do so, whatever the cost.
Materials: Digital photography, digital printing on vinyl, aluminum, inflatable structure, blower.
