Big Other -Taïwan

2024

At the invitation of Amnesty International Taiwan, “Big Other” was presented at the historic site Treasure Hill Artist Village (Taipei) in collaboration with Exmuro (Quebec). The project, which addresses the excesses of surveillance capitalism, was at the heart of an awareness campaign carried out around the ethical issues surrounding facial recognition technologies. In Taiwan, surveillance cameras are part of everyday life and the collection (without consent) of the population’s biometric data is common practice. The work “Big Other”, put into context in this new reality and adapted to the location, made it possible to start the discussion with Taiwanese people.
