Location: Grands-Bâtisseurs elementary school, Quebec.
Capturing the immensity of nature in a few strokes is what this installation achieves. Underwater depths and green hills are revealed through delicate curves that combine a topographical map with a child’s drawing. Visible from the outside, the work reinterprets the local territory, nestled between river and mountain.
This poetic panorama follows the students as they explore the school, capturing their imaginations. The wall motifs recall their drawings of waves and birds. The sculpture features photos of crafts: blue satin recreates the waterway, and synthetic plants represent the surrounding vegetation! The artists thus celebrate the human dimension of the landscape.
Materials: Aluminum, digital photographs, printed on 3M self-adhesive vinyl with anti-UV ink, mirror acrylic, anti-scratch protective film.
